TrAIN Open Lectures

TrAIN Open Lectures : About

An important and ongoing element of the TrAIN Research Centre’s programme of events, TrAIN Open Lectures take place on Tuesday evenings during Academic term time. They are open to the public as well as staff and students across the University of the Arts London. The series is convened by members of the Centre’s core research staff, and speakers are invited on the basis of the parity between their own activities and those of the Centre.

The series aims to establish a forum for speakers to present current exhibition, publication and research projects, and to discuss emerging issues in critical theory and practice, art history and historiography. Since its inception in 2004 leading practitioners have continued to contribute to the programme and the TrAIN Open Lecture series has become both an ongoing forum for public debate and an opportunity for staff and students involved with TrAIN to establish contact, and lasting dialogue, with those who share an interest in transnational art.

The venue for the Open Lecture series is Chelsea College of Art & Design, which with Camberwell College of Arts and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design is one of TrAIN’s constituent colleges.
